Ryan started out as a WWOOF volunteer in Thailand in 2001 and has been a WWOOF host for 6 years now.
WWOOFers can do/learn natural building and painting (mostly Nov - March), cement work, solar cooking, solar power, wine making, composting and more. We have very little farming now but hope to be growing more veggies and mushrooms in the near future.
Our Neighbors, Pun Pun and Panya also offer mid to long stay opportunities. While they are not free like WWOOF, they are well worth the money as they are more qualified farmers with better accommodations.
We get many requests to WWOOF. Most people change their dates several times and/or cancel. Our plans are also always changing. All requests and replies to stay with us should be considered tentative and should be confirmed about 10 days before and again the day before. thank you.

Q - When do you usually need people?
A - From Nov - March it is more likely we will need your help.
Other times of the year you are free to write and ask. We will reply if we need you.
Q - I've read that we'll sleep in tents, so, we need sleeping bag?
A - No, we will provide everything you need to sleep comfortable.

Q - What is the timetable more or less for a normal day ?
A - Its a flexible and irregular, but start around 8ish with some outdoor work while its still cool till noon. then lunch and lighter work inside till 3 or 4. after maybe a swim or free time. Some days i work all day, sun up till sundown. WWOOFers are free to stop anytime they want. Many find the work interesting and educational and choose to work long hours with me but it is not required.
Q Do we need warm clothes?
A - from Nov-Feb it can be cool or cold at night, but a light fleece is enough for most people. Other months the evening are also pretty warm.
Q - What is the work we're going to do?
A - The work is quite varied but usually building related. Adobe building, natural painting and foundation work. there are also usually some alternative technology work related to solar electric, solar cooking, or similar things. working with plants is a small part of the work.
Q - what does a "typical" day at bann Rang Nok look like?
A - Wake up at 7, make breakfast, eat streach and talk about the plans for the day. Work will 1ish then cook and eat lunch and break,
(In the hot season a long break, cool season shorter break and finisher earlier)
Work till 4-5 and go swimming. Sometimes we enjoy working so much we work straight till dinner. Evening free time for talking, drinking or computer time. They are usually quite full days, but we have a day off a week and sometimes have short days also.

A - Yes, all are welcome.

A - We eat and cook all meals together. the food is mostly vegan and we can work with most special diets. The food is mostly all from our garden or the local farmers in the village.

Willing Workers On Organic Farms (WWOOF) เราเรียกง่าย ๆ ว่า “วู๊ฟ” เป็นเครือข่ายอาสาสมัครที่เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ที่ชอบท่องเที่ยวได้มีอากาสได้เข้ามาช่วยเหลืองานหรือเรียนรู้จากฟาร์มต่าง ๆ ที่ตนเองสนใจในทั่วทุกมุมโลก ซึ่งบ้านรังนกของเราก็เป็นหนึ่งในสมาชิกของฟาร์มเหล่านั้นที่เปิดโอกาสให้ทุกคนที่สนใจได้เข้ามาพักอาศัยและเรียนรู้สิ่งต่าง ๆ จากเรา งานส่วนใหญ่ที่บ้านรังนก จะเป็นงานสร้างบ้านดินซึ่งเรามีโครงการจะสร้างถึง 4 หลังในปี 2554 นี้ (เยอะไปป่าวเนี่ย!) นั่นคือ ห้องเก็บวัสดุ/อุปกรณ์ ห้องส้วม สำนักงาน และบ้านของหนอน นอกจากนี้ก็ยังมีงานด้านการทำเกษตรอินทรีย์และเพาะเห็ด และความรู้เล็ก ๆ น้อย ๆ จากประสบการณ์ที่พวกเรามีและพร้อมจะถ่ายทอด เช่น การถ่ายภาพ การเจริญภาวนา การทำอาหารไทย การหมักไวน์ การติดตั้งระบบไฟฟ้าฟ้าพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ การทำอาหารจากพลังงานความร้อนจากแสงอาทิตย์และอื่น ๆ ซึ่งทางเรายินดีรับอาสาสมัครครั้งละไม่เกิน 5 คน
นอกจากนี้เรายังมีเพื่อนบ้านที่น่ารักอีก 4 ชุมชน ที่ล้วนเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการพึ่งตนเองอย่างยั่งยืน นั่นคือ หมู่บ้านแม่โจ้ ชุมชนพันพรรณ อยู่สบายและปัญญาโปรเจค
